I think you needed more quotes from Adam in the article… he didn’t seem to get his normal ratio of info to buy my stuff that he usually does
Overall great bit of writing…
nice job

oh but i think you do a great disservice by not mentioning all the work that Geoff Proctor has done lately and in the past…
Curely maybe god incarnate to Adam but… Geoff needs some equal props (that or its clear its a NE biased spin on the article)

Does cyclingnews pay for unsolicited submissions? Or did they ask you to do it?

Cyclingnews approached me.
gewilli-
I’ve got the utmost respect for Geoff Proctor, and this article wasn’t meant as a slight to him at all. One of the big reasons that I talked to Adam is his involvement with cyclocross in the upper echelons of the UCI. He’s one of six members on the UCI Cyclo-cross Commission, the sole non-European, and I wanted to find out how Europeans involved with the sport’s organization perceived American cyclocross.

ah… good ’spaination…
editorially/stylistically i think i missed the significance reading the article. UCI comish slapped into a slash/linked/list/of/stuff de-emphasized the logic you expressed there in comment 5…
not trying to be negative, it is a great article… and i am slow so… could just be me…
but adding your last sentence there in the article introducing adam would have given his voice (quotes) more authority i think (to me at least).
keep up the good work man!

I think you did a great job Peter! It’s not easy to jump into the journalistic mindset that CN expects of its staff and guest writers. I did not see an East Coast bias, your focus on the current and future state cross was write on target. And unlike gewilli, I dont think its anybodies business how CN works with writers. I hope you can become a full time writer so you can train again, and be the cross god of your past.

to clarify - (and it bugs me quite a bit) i did not pose the question about how CN works with the writers…
